

Berry, Robert (Rob), age 64 of Beavercreek, passed away Thursday morning, July 21, 2016, surrounded by family. Rob was born to Charles Russ and Lillie Juanita Berry July 1, 1952 in Dayton, OH. He was a graduate of Fairview High School and Miami (OH) University. He formerly owned Coffey’s Body Shop & Towing .Rob was very active in the local sports scene. He played in the Dayton Amateur Baseball League for 20 years and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1997. His passion for sports led him to create the Beavercreek Sox baseball program as well as Lady Spirit basketball. These programs were open to any young person that wanted to become better at his or her sport. He was a longtime certified United States Soccer Federation referee. Rob spent the last 17 years as a basketball coach at Carroll High School, serving the last 14 as the women’s varsity head coach. Rob was preceded in death by his father Charles Russ Berry; mother-in-law Regina Cretcher; his grandmothers Louise Berry and Nell Coakley and his grandfather Jesse Coakley. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kathy; children: Brenden (Amy), Chelsie (Adam) Maloney, Tyler (Lani) and Brogan; grandchildren: Keegan, Maeve, Cormac, and Breanna; brothers Charles (Joan) and David (PJ). He is also survived by two brothers-in-law and a sister in law, aunts, uncles, and several nieces and nephews. A prayer service will be held at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM at St. Helen Catholic Church, 5086 Burkhardt Rd, Riverside, OH 45431. Fr. Dave Brinkmoeller celebrant. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, Monday July 25, 2016 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
