He completed a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. Aside from raising his family, his military service was the accomplishment of which he was most proud.
After retiring from the military, Bob owned and operated a traveling automotive repair business, Autoscription. He loved to drive, a passion that later led him to cross-country truck driving for several years. Through those travels, he saw many beautiful places across the United States and often recalled, in vivid detail, the highways and scenic routes he had experienced. Bob was an avid golfer. He enjoyed golfing immensely. He shot a hole in one at Community Golf Center, hole #3, 99 yards, with a 5 iron on August 2, 2018!
