Robert John Foster

Heaven gained one heck of any angel - we hope they were ready for the force that is Robert John Foster. Robert passed peacefully on August 17, 2026, age 75, at Hospice of Dayton with his family by his side.

Born March 16, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio, Robert spent his life focused on his family, working hard for their future, helping others, and having quite a bit of fun along the way. An Eagle Scout and graduate of Stivers high school, Robert went on to a decades long career as an operational efficiency expert in the printing industry at Reynolds, and Relizon, followed by a successful consulting business. While working full time and raising a family, Robert pursued his bachelors degree by first graduating from Sinclair College. He then continued his education at Capital University, graduating Summa Cum Laude - his daughter hosted his graduation party.

As successful as he was in business, his true love was time spent with his family and friends. At Stivers he met the love of his life, then Becki Shropshire, and together they built a wonderful life. The love he shares with his wife Becki is an inspiring example of Christian commitment in marriage. They welcomed two daughters - and as

a girl dad, we always knew he wanted the very best for us and was there for us no matter what. We are so proud to be his daughters.

No story of my dad’s life is complete without talking about his friends - when you were his friend, you were family and you were in for something special. As his long time friend shared, when he met Robert Foster his life got more exciting. Whether it was on the golf course, pool table, or the beach at Anna Maria; in church choir, bowling league, or optimist Club; at the Melon Festival, cookout or 19th hole, Bob thoroughly enjoyed time spent with his friends many of whom he had known for over 50 years.

Robert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Becki, and their daughters - Jennifer (Joe) Frericks and Jessica

(Jason) Williams. Five grandchildren who adored their papa- Jackson and Conner Frericks, Rhiannon, Foster and Beckett Williams, and the granddogs he learned to love, Finn and Zelda. He is predeceased by his parents, Mary Lou and John Smith Foster, and brother Stephen Foster.

While we will celebrate his life everyday, a visitation will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 6430 Far Hills Ave., Centerville, Ohio 45459, with funeral service to follow at 11:00am. A luncheon will follow at Kohler Center, 4572 Presidential Way, Kettering, Ohio 45429. The family will hold a graveside ceremony for interment at Centerville Cemetery at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, be made to Hospice of Dayton in his memory. The family is establishing a scholarship for Sinclair Community College students and will be commemorating his memory at the Hospice of Dayton campus.
