

KNOX, Robert J. “Bobby-Rosebud”, born January 21, 1954, left his earth fighting, December 20, 2014, 5:00pm end of his watch. Preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents. Survived by wife, Mitzi Knox, son Christopher Rudy and fiancée Jamie, grandsons, his best buddy Rowan and Michael, sisters Karen (Jack) Wagner and family, Suzy (Gary) Zackser and family, father in law Ray (Marilyn) Engleman, sister in laws Carol (Rick) Elliott, Sherry (Nathan) Engleman and April, special brother in laws Tony and Andre Engleman, step father Gene Romer, and very close friends Oliver Logan and Theo Mills. Bobby retired in 2011 from the City of Dayton Police Department as a detective for 38 years, was on the hostage negotiation team for 30 years, and Dayton FOP for over 30 years. He was employed at the Dayton Art Institute and University of Dayton. Bobby was a cop’s cop, a friend’s best friend, never knew a stranger, full of compassion, a very decent person to everyone he met and he loved everyone he worked with. He will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank the City of Dayton Police and Fire Squads for everything they did to help Robert the day he passed. Funeral services will take place at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Ave. at Fauver Ave. on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at 12:00pm. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. Entombment will take place on Tuesday, following the noon funeral service, at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum.
