Robert Stephen Long

Robert “Bob” Long was born in Dayton, Ohio, to parents Leonard J. Long and Alice M. Long. He spent most of his life in Beavercreek and graduated from Beavercreek High School. He went on to graduate Salutatorian from ITT with his associate’s degree. Bob worked in the fabrication field for most of his career and later opened his own business, “Counter Advice.” He also started several countertop shops for Lowe’s in different states. Throughout his career, he received multiple awards from Dupont Corian for his innovative designs and processes, which spread throughout the industry. In the 1970s, Bob sang with his brothers Dan and Jim in a gospel quartet called “The Conquerors Quartet” in Dayton, Ohio.

Bob married the love of his life, Jondra Dianne Woodward, on December 18, 1982, and they were married for 43 years. Together they had two children, Robert Westin Long (Sarah) and Matalyn Desiree Olvera (David), and three grandchildren: Kayln, Sophia, and Evelyn. Family meant everything to Bob, and he was extremely proud of his wife, children, and grandchildren, all of whom loved and adored him. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Alice, and his sister Miriam Hood and brothers William (Bill) Leonard (Lenny), and James (Jim). He is survived by his brother Daniel (Beverly), as well as multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Bob was a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a jokester, and everyone who met him loved him for his humor. He was a mentor, inventer, leader, and he lived by his Christian values every day through his kindness. Helping others wasn’t something he did — it was who he was. Bob was deeply loved and will be missed by all of his family and friends.
