I'm saddened to learn today of the Chief's passing.  He was a great friend and my first professional mentor.  I met Bob upon arriving at my first duty assignment, the Foreign Technology Division, at Wright-Patterson AFB, in February 1984; we immediately hit it off and remained friends ever since.  I'll never forget our trips to the Indy 500 or the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans to catch his beloved Buckeyes...of course we had to first watch my Wolverines win the National Championship on TV before heading to the Superdome! I miss you Chief...RIP!

I'm saddened to learn of Bob's passing. I met Bob on a train in London some time ago when I was over from Ireland on holiday. Whilst we never met in person since, we kept in contact by email. He was a real gentleman. RIP Bob.

I have known "The Chief" since 1972 when I joined the reserves after four years active duty. He became a good friend and teacher. Bob was the consumate Air Force professional and will surely be missed. God bless.

Bob "Chief", RIP my friend.  I met Bob 20 years ago when he became my supervisor at NAIC (NASIC) and we became friends right away.  I'll never forget my first ever trip to the Indy 500 with Bob, we went to grab breakfast at a Steak and Shake and it took over 45 minutes to get our food and those of you that know Bob realize he was none to happy! LOL  When the server came over to ask if anything was wrong Bob said "your damn right something is wrong, if you continue to serve like this in the future you'll end up like them"  (pointing to the building across the street), the building across the street had a large out of business sign posted!  Had some great times at the Dragons games, OSU games and Indy 500, you will be missed.  Bob loved the Air Force and his country, a patriot has passed.  I share in the sorrow with his family.  Dennis

I met Bob when I was assigned to FTD in 1970. My family and I have known Bob for 46 years and will miss him deeply.  He came to visit us several times over the years.  We consider it a privilege and honor to have known him. It is comforting to know he is now resting in the arms of GOD. Farewell and GOD SPEED my friend!

I can't remember when I first met 'The Chief' but from that moment we quickly became friends and remained so for over 40 years.  He was the consummate professional throughout his military and civilian careers, and helped so many through his unending charity.  To God be the glory now and forever!  Thanks for everything, Chief!

Bob's dedication to the security mission of FTD, the USAF and our nation was most outstanding.

Bob has been a very close friend with my family and I for the last 47 years. We considered him family. He will surely be missed.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
