Robert Monter

Robert “Bob” Monter, 82, of Xenia, OH, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Beloved husband of Apryle Monter. Loving father of daughters Ann (Ken) Zander, Laura (Steve) Gries and step-children Allyson and Ryan Hochwalt. Proud grandfather of Morgan (Jackson) Stubner, Josh and Maddie Zander, Gabe, Danielle and Ben Gries, Brennan Hochwalt and proud great-grandfather of Knox Stubner. Dear brother, Don Monter and former spouse Cindy Monter Clay. Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Veronica Monter.

Bob had a thirst for knowledge having received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Marietta College, PhD in Organic Chemistry at Purdue University and MBA from the University of Dayton. Marietta College held a special place in his heart as he developed friendships that remained strong throughout his life. Bob continued to be very involved with Marietta College by sitting on their Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association, a proud member of the President’s Circle, participated in the Science Advisory Board and was a Distinguished Alumnus. Bob was an entrepreneur at heart and held several patents on medical and electrical devices. Bob always put his family first and there was nothing he would not do to support his family. Having met the love of his life, Apryle, the two of them remained inseparable throughout their 20 years of marriage. Bob enjoyed discussing current events and loved a challenging conversation. He will be missed by so many.
