Reis, Robert J (Bob), age 73, of Springboro, Ohio went to be with the Lord on October 16 , after a long and hard fought battle. Bob is survived by his wife of 22 years Sue, sons Robert (Daphne) Reis and Brian (Kristie) Reis, daughter Pam (Mark) Iorio, grandchildren Brandon, Dominic, Antonio and Victoria, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Betty Reis, brother Jay, and wife Maureen. Bob’s top priorities in life were his faith, family and friends and nothing made him happier than spending time with all three. His love for life and others was contagious and only moments after meeting him you instantly knew that he was one of a kind. The passion he had for helping others came out in everything he did, his selfless acts were too numerous to count, but became his signature characteristic. He had a love and passion for spending his free time with family and friends, working in the yard, supporting and cheering on his grandchildren in their many activities, cheering on his favorite sports teams (Xavier Basketball, UD Basketball, Cincinnati Reds and Bengals) and traveling. Bob graduated from Xavier College with a degree in Economics in 1967 and from Wright State University with his MBA in 1976, and after deciding to forego his pursuit of his passion for baseball, he began a storied and heralded 40 year career at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Bob was a standout from the start and quickly rose thru the ranks, receiving praise and recognition for his numerous achievements and quickly becoming a favorite boss to many. Bob retired as Deputy Director of Contracting for the Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC) home PK office, overseeing 700+ contracting professionals and spending over $12 Billion dollars annually. He took incredible pride at the work he did and the service he provided, always viewing every penny he spent as if it were his own. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a contribution to one of the following three charities which were very special to Bob and his family – St. Jude , Jimmy V Foundation (Cancer Research) and the ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) Foundation. We all can’t thank you enough for the outpouring of love and support to our family during this difficult time, we are truly blessed. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Springboro at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
