

Robert W. Tobias died on December 31, 2023, after several years of declining health. He was born at his Grandmother Eckerle's home in Xenia, Ohio, on September 18, 1935, to Raymond and Cathryn(Eckerle)Tobias. He was a proud graduate of Beavercreek High School, class of 1953. After being drafted into the United States Army he spent two years of service in California at the Presidio. Later he worked as a civilian ar Norton Air Force Base, San Bernardino, California. He moved back to Ohio in 1964 to work at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, where he met Ruth, his wife of 58 years. Retired from the base after 35 years and spent the next 12 years in flower delivery for Knollwood Garden Center and Beavercreek Florist.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard C. and wife Barbara, brother Donald P. and wives Marilynn and Doris, niece Kyle Tobias, nephews Alan Tobias and Peter Olsen.
Survived by his wife, his son Eric(Becca)Tobias, daughter Lori(Mark)Wieland, and granddaughter Cora Wieland. Survived by brother-in-law George(Karolyn)Lackey. Survived by nieces Susan Lackey Knoth, Zoe Tobias Ziegler, Leslie Tobias Olsen, and Emily Tobias; nephews Stephen Lackey and Stuart Tobias. Cousins Elaine Eckerle Anderson, Eloise Eckerle Shipley, Patty Taylor Stolk and other extended family.
Long-time member of Beaver United Church of Christ, where he held many offices and volunteered his time to many activities.
A memorial service will be held at Beaver United Church of Christ on Friday, January 26, 2024, with visiting at 10am, the service at 11am, and with the committal at the Garden of Peace, Mount Zion Park Cemetery.
