She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dorothy Roselius, stepfather, Russell Besecker, and husband, Joseph. Roberta is survived by her son, Kenneth Painter, brother, Michael (Linda) Besecker, sister-in-law, Barbara (David) Thompson, nieces, Beth Besecker (Matt Repasky), Erin (James) Bailey, and Michelle (Adam) Kasten, two great-nieces, Reese and Madison, three great-nephews, Lincoln, Capen, and Kole, very special friends Marcia Calhoun and Cynthia Douglas, who took very good care of her many times on a daily basis when her family wasn’t available, and numerous other friends who loved her dearly.
Roberta was a faithful member of New Hope Lutheran Church, where she was a longtime participant in the choir and in bible study. She enjoyed watching football, had a great sense of humor, and loved seek-and-find puzzles.
A service will take place at New Hope Lutheran Church, 2000 Catalpa Dr, Dayton, OH, 45406 on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11 am, and family will receive friends beginning at 10 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery the same day at 12:30 pm. Masks are required for those who wish to attend.
