He is Preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Bessie (nee Cope) VanKirk as well as 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret (nee Ziegler) VanKirk, his children: Ron (Brenda) VanKirk, Beth (Eric) Morris, and Sean VanKirk; Grandchildren: Erica, Chad, Matthew, Kayelee, Arianna, and Kasey; and several nieces and nephews.
Ron was born in Ellwood City, PA on November 15, 1941, to the late Jesse and Bessie (nee Cope) VanKirk. In 1963 he went on to join the US Air Force, where he proudly served for 4 years. After the Air Force, Ron went on to work for B & W Steel Mill in Koppel, PA. After 20 years at the steel mill, he changed fields and went on to work in orthotics until his retirement.
Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman, was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2800, and enjoyed his boat at Lake Erie for over 20 years He also enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and his little fur “critters”. Ron will truly be missed by all who knew him.
