

Panella, Rosellen, age 81, a longtime resident of Riverside, OH passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2016, in Naples, FL. She was born in Fairmont, WV, on March 19, 1934, to Joseph and Jeanni (Urbaniak) Urse, who preceded her in death. Rosellen is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, John W. Panella and a brother-in-law, Ed Lewis. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Panella, of Naples, FL; her son and daughter-in-law, John S. and Angela Panella, of Dayton; 2 sisters, Helena and husband, Gene Tartell, Janet Lewis, all of Dayton; a brother, Joe Urse, of Fairmont, WV; grandchildren, Lindsay Southwick, John and wife, Kasey Panella, Max Hussian, all of Naples, FL, Melissa Panella, of NE and Amy Panella, of Dayton; great grandchildren, Mark Southwick, Jr., Jaylin and Jada Panella, Anthony and Christina Santiago, Alexander Bullock and Kai Panella. Rosellen attended elementary, high school and college in Fairmont, WV. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Helen Catholic Church and volunteered at St. Helen School and Carroll High School. Rosellen was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother who enjoyed reading, gardening, arts and crafts, cooking, travel and shopping. Above all, she enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. from St. Helen Catholic Church with Father David Brinkmoeller, celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the prayers on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Helen School Endowment Fund.
