Ruth G. Walker

WALKER, Ruth G., age 90 of Kettering, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2016. Ruth was born on March 13, 1926 in Rogersville, Tennessee to the late Mitchell and Pearl (Burton) Greene. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Carroll R. Walker and her brother, Willard Greene. She is survived by her son, Scott (Stephanie) Walker of Centerville; her daughter, Diane (Steve) Ludwig of Kettering; grandchildren, Alicia Walker, Shannon (Misho) Jovic, Amy (Jordan) Diller, Matthew and Michael Ludwig, and Georgia Walker; great grandchildren, Andre O’Daniel, Luka, Ivana, and Katija Jovic; and sisters in law, Mattie Greene and Eva Adams. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who above all, loved the Lord. She moved to the Dayton area with her new husband Carroll after WW II and worked alongside him in a variety of businesses including homebuilding and nearly 20 years at Pella Sales, Inc., a company they founded in 1969. She loved gardening, home decorating and spending time with her family. She and her husband were founding members of Washington Heights Baptist Church on Far Hills Ave. Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45429, with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. Interment Highland Cemetery, Rogersville, Tennessee.
