

KRAMER, Samuel N., M.D., died suddenly on November 13, 2012 at South View Hospital. He practiced pathology in Dayton for forty years and actively promoted the Dayton and Cincinnati Opera Companies, as well as We Care Arts. He and his late wife Linda were expert birders and travelled worldwide. Sam was born on November 6, 1942 in Kansas City, MO where he graduated from the Pembroke Hill School. He studied the Great Books at Saint John's College in Annapolis, MD, and returned to the Midwest for his medical degree from the University of Kansas. He completed two residencies, one at Bethesda Naval Hospital and one at Bellevue Hospital. Sam is survived by two children from his first wife, Katy: Harriet Meehan of Oakwood and Charles Herbert of West Carrollton; in addition, his sister, Eleanor K. Sypher of New York, his sister-in-law, Sue Kramer of Los Angeles, as well as nieces, a nephew, and three grand children. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24th at 11 AM at Miami Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sam's honor may be made to We Care Arts, and the Dayton and Cincinnati Opera Companies.
