Sharon Lynn Jewell (Fowler) found peace on Saturday, January 15, 2022 --only 5 days short of her 75th birthday. Sharon had beaten breast cancer over a decade ago but passed away from residual effects of the treatment. Her family is grateful for the extra time God granted her.
Born January 20, 1947 to William ‘Bill’ & Helen Fowler (both dec.), Sharon was the eldest of their 4 children (Billy (dec.), Carol, & Kenny) & lived her entire life in Kettering, OH.
Survived by David, her husband of over half a century, their 2 children: Michael (Lindsay) & Renee (Joel), 6 grandchildren: Tawny, Nicholas, Madison, Payton, Aubrianne, & Jaxton, & her dog-shaped shadow: Ellie Button. When it was Sharon's time, her late Bichon Cuppy was undoubtedly the 1st one to greet her.
At age 21, Sharon met the love of her life David on New Year's Eve, & they were married the following July. David affectionately called her ‘Lou’ or ‘Lou Lou’. She knew her time would likely come 1st, and had asked that we make sure he knows: Despite her many, many threats to beat him up with the TV remote over the years — she thought that he was “the cat’s meow.” Sharon always bragged about how he was a keeper, & she loved how he could make her smile. Even though her final conversations, Sharon made sure we all knew how wonderful of a job he’s done taking caring of & devoting his life to her. Sharon was proud of their life together but even more proud of him. She loved him “a bushel & a peck & a hug around the neck!”
In her younger years, Sharon was known for hairstyles that almost doubled the size of her head! Granddaughter Tawny has joked that it was probably from of all the secrets & gossip her Gran always knew— as Sharon was the confidant to many. Sharon was a strong woman who always made sure that her & hers were cared for. You never had to wonder what she was thinking because if her words didn’t say it, her expression definitely would. Sharon also had a passion for vintage toys, her home and garden (especially her purple clematis!!). Her favorite book was The Kissing Hand, & she loved the tale of the Blue Bird of Happiness.
Knowingly or not, she left her print every member of this family, and she helped us all to become who we are today.
Sharon: The wife, mother, grandmother, sister, & aunt we’ve loved will never go away. She’ll walk right here beside us, even on this day. Unseen, unheard, yet always near — still loved, still missed, & very dear.
Sharon’s service will be held in the indoor chapel at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville, OH on Thursday, January 27 at 1PM. The Gardens are also where she will be laid to rest for any one who wishes to visit at a later date.
Sharon regularly gave to a series of charities she was passionate about. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Sharon’s name. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com for the Jewell Family.
