

Kemp, Sherry Sue Olmstead 72, of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away peacefully October 23, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Addison and Shirley Olmstead, in September 1947, in a small town called Sanitarium in Napa County, California. She was married to her husband Richard Kemp for 49 years. Sherry is survived by her mother Shirley, of Napa, California, her sister Judy Aitken, of Arroyo Grande, California, her husband Richard, of Beavercreek, Ohio, and six children: Markus and Amanda Kemp, of Boerne, Texas; Rebekah and Philip Wiles, of White Lake, Michigan; Anna and Scott Dorsten, of Beavercreek, Ohio; Mary and Dustin Larsen, of Spanish Fork, Utah; Ian and Shanna Kemp, of Austin, Texas; and Ruth Kemp, of Beavercreek, Ohio. She was a loving grandmother to her twelve grandchildren: Jacob, Cole, Anthony, Abby, Gavin, Spencer, Lauren, Ella, Cassie, Katelyn, Matthew, and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her father Addison Olmstead and sister Darrolanne Paulson, both of Napa, California. Sherry was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, Tecumseh Council, for over 30 years, holding several positions within the Cub Scout and Boy Scout Programs, and working with her sons who both obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. Sherry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a woman of strong faith who believed in the power and saving grace of her Savior Jesus Christ and the beauty and peace awaiting her after her passing. She felt joy and comfort knowing she would be united with her loved ones and that families can be together forever. Sherry was a humble, loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She touched the hearts of those around her in countless ways and was an incredible example of strength and courage. She endured physical pain without complaint and always looked for ways to serve those around her. She loved spending time with her family, working with animals, and cared deeply for all of her grand-pets. We love you, Sherry. A memorial service in her honor will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3072 Shakertown Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45434. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements in care of Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel.
