Shirley Ann Kneisly

Shirley Brodnick (Graul) (Cumming) Kneisly passed on October 25, 2024. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Frank Jr. and Emma (Reumping) Brodnick, her brother Roger Brodnick, son Stephan Graul and grandson Peter Leatherman. She is survived by her children Sally (Tom) Leatherman, Karen (Kevin) Fitzharris, Jayne (Kevin) Henderson, Kathy Graul, Joy (Joe) Reinert and Dan (Jenni) Cumming. Her grandchildren, Megan, Andy, Ryan, Jenny, Brittany, Lindsey, Michael, Matthew, Jon, Jamie, Jordan, Alex, Grace & Sam. Her great-grandchildren, Harper, Evelyn, Carter, Jordyn, Wyatt, Sawyer, Mason, Piper, Nash, Stockton & GiGi. Special mention to stepdaughter Tammy (Joe) Resa, Heather & Cortney.

Shirley was born in Dayton and attended St. Anthony grade school, Julienne High School and graduated from Patterson Co-op. Shirley was a loving mother and advocate for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley was a caring, friendly and a fun Mom, a good neighbor, and friend to all, she will be missed.

She made friends wherever she went. She and her friends from school had a lifetime of fun, playing cards, shopping, eating out and staying in touch. She worked at General Motors until marriage and then became a stay-at-home Mom. She later began work at Pitney Bowes and graduated from Sinclair Community College with an Associate Degree. She volunteered for many years at Kettering Hospital in the gift shop.

The family thanks Ohio Hospice and the Visiting Angels for their support and caring attitude.

Visitation will be from 10:30 am to 11:00 am on Friday, November 15th, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville, OH 45459. Following the funeral mass, burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

Shirley had two grandchildren with Cystic Fibrosis, so in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s honor to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-.
