Shirley D Wingate

Wingate, Shirley D., age 91 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, June16, 2011, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Mt. Sterling, KY to the late Reese and Mary Wingate, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna; granddaughter Kimberly Bowser; and brother Chester Wingate. Shirley is survived by two daughters: Jane Bowser (husband Bill, deceased) and Mary Rice (husband Bob, deceased); a son, Alan F. Wingate; 3 sisters: Mable Markland, Audria Carmichael, and Naomi Horseman; 7 grandchildren: Tammy, Krista, Karma, Karen, Kevin, Alena, and Haley; 11 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was a US Navy veteran of WWII and later worked at NCR for 30 years. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Temple for over 50 years. The funeral service will be held at 1PM, Monday, June 20, 2011at Tobias Funeral Home-Belmont Chapel, with the Reverend Jerry Siler officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit from 11AM until the time of service Monday.
