I was  never very close to Stefan. I knew him by correspondence (I guess  he peer-reviewed some of my articles published in London)  and several meetings cupped with frank and exciting exchange of ideas. He passed away... But during the last years, I have been remembering him so often. Whenever I write something about Rusyn I always ask him to give me advice - I remember his passion about his last project. What a dedicated Slavist! I miss him dearly and sincerely. RIP, Stefan!

I am sad that I never met this man.  I am sure that he was a very interesting professor with great expertise in Slavic languages.  There hasn't been anyone like that at Wright State since Doctor Matual. Condolences to his family and friends.  I am sure that he is missed dearly.

A great professor. He will truly be missed.
