McALLISTER, Thomas R., 73, of Beavercreek passed away peacefully at home Tues, Oct 9, 2012. Tom was born May 21, 1939 in Holbrook, NY to Richard & Catherine Attracta (Finn) McAllister who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen (Dugan), and three daughters, Catherine Sumner (Robert); Diane Melvin (Chris); and Susan McAllister-Weidenbach (Lee); five grandchildren: Jessica & Lindsay Sumner, Tim & Matt Melvin, and Claudia McAllister-Peterson; a sister, Bridie Carr of Boston, MA & numerous nieces and nephews. Tom graduated from Seton Hall HS in Patchogue, NY and received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in June, 1961 from Univ of Dayton. He was a 1st Lt in the US Army stationed at Fort Bliss TX & Fort Meade MD. Following military service he worked his total career in the Foreign Technology Division (FTD) at WPAFB. He was a member of St. Luke School Board and a Sunday Lector. He was a life member of the American Legion Beavercreek Memorial Post 763, and served as Chaplain. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Mon, Oct 15 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1440 N. Fairfield Rd. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
