Vella Mary (Hinds) Brown age 92 of Alpha Ohio passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Trinity Community of Beavercreek. She was born October 18, 1933, in Jamestown Tennessee to the late William and Rubie (Duncan) Hinds. She’s also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Billy E. Brown, siblings: Wayne, Gene, Ed, and James Hinds; Edith Grewe, Maggie McQueary, Lola Flowers and Connie Cravans, and three infant siblings. Vella is survived by her brother Doug Hinds and his wife Pat, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Vella graduated from the Draughon’s Business College in Nashville, Tennessee April of 1953. She retired as a loan officer from the City Loan Company with over 25 years of experience. She was also a member and past president of the American Businesswomen’s Association. She was a faithful longtime member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Xenia. She and her husband Billy traveled to many countries via cruise ships. They loved to bake and enjoyed local Fairs and Festivals peddling their homemade “Rocky Mountain Fudge”. Vella was also known for her crocheting, she made blankets for anyone who needed them. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Hospice of Dayton or the Evangelical United Methodist Church. Family to receive friends Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Beavercreek Chapel. Burial to follow in the Valley View Memorial Garden Cemetery.
