Victoria Marie Bertrand Neyhouse passed away on March 9, 2026 at the age of 64. Vicky was born in Kettering, OH and grew up on Robertann Dr. surrounded by a lively and loving neighborhood community. She graduated from Fairmont East High School in 1979, serving as class president and chair of the reunion committee for 45 years. Vicky later met her husband, Jim, in 1985. With the help of his unwavering persistence, she finally agreed to a date that would lead to 37 years of marriage. Together, Jim and Vicky had three sons, and being their mom was undoubtedly her proudest achievement.
She was a deeply loving individual and loved being a mom more than anything else in her life. Between three boys’ school, sports, and social calendars, she went above and beyond supporting all their academic and extracurricular ambitions. And being a mother extended well beyond her three boys. Vicky routinely and without hesitation opened up her home to everyone. Her home was a meeting place for hangouts, sleepovers, and holidays; she treated every person who entered her home like family. Many neighborhood kids and childhood friends endearingly referred to her as “Mom”. When she became a Grandma, she reveled in babysitting and spoiling her beloved grandbabies.
Vicky, like all moms, was multifaceted. She was a lover of animals and had many in her home. She spent her life with beloved animal companions, having raised 3 cats (Puppy-Kitty, Cerf, Astro), 3 white shepherds (Zack, Quincy, Marcus), and 3 poodles (Buffy, Miranda, Frasier). Leaning into her passion for animals, she held roles with veterinarian Dr. Aubrey Wyatt and with the Groomobile. Many who knew Vicky saw how she admired the beauty this world offered her—whether it was tending to her gardens, watching hummingbirds in her bird feeders, gazing out at lightning over the ocean, or waking up in the wee hours of the morning to watch meteor showers on the back porch.
Her constant smile and uplifting spirit were infectious, showing strangers and family alike an unwavering positive energy. To know her was to love her. She will be missed dearly.
Vicky is survived by her three sons and their partners, Arend (Simonne), James (Ashley), and Bertrand (Hannah); grandchildren, Cecelia and Paxton; four siblings, Scott (Lori), Jeff (Paula), Mike (Linda), and Molly (Mike); and countless friends and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her husband, James, and parents, Richard and Eleanore.
A viewing will be held at Tobias Funeral Home—Belmont Chapel (648 Watervliet Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420) on Saturday, March 14th from 10am until 12pm. The funeral service will begin at 12pm. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In remembrance of Vicky Neyhouse, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to organizations that support cancer research and care for cancer patients.
