Yes, Vince it has been a while since you left all of us, but I will never forget all the cases we worked together when I was at the Sugarcreek Wal-Mart store as an asset protection officer. You would get on my office pa and tell me to get to my office up front. I always knew you had something for me to help you with. We had many good times and many cases solved. I will never forget the night you chased down an emergency exit door thief I had caught and he had ran from you to his vehicle and you made the news chasing him in your cruiser. Or the time we went together looking for someone who committed a felony theft and you found them with your detective skills. You were one of a kind and a good friend. See ya again someday, Vickie.

Well Vince, just wanted to let you know you are not forgotten. A lot of time has passed since you left us but the guys at KPD and SC Twp PD still talk about you.  See ya later.

Vince came into my life not by choice. He was dispatched to assist me in arresting a parolee I was supervising in Sugarcreek. Little did I know, that from that moment on, my life would never be the same. Vince was one of my closest friends and also a mentor in my everyday life and work. I always knew I could count on him, not matter what. He was very dedicated to, and took great pride, in his work and his family. Over the years, I spent a lot of time with his his parents, V.J. and Helen, who were an amazing couple. I think of them often and feel extremely blessed to have had them in my life. They are greatly missed, as is Vince.  In June 2014, my mother was diagnosed with cancer so I went to Ohio to help take care of her. I also spent time with Vince, for which I am forever grateful. We laughed, talked, looked at pictures of his grandson Vincent Jay, Nicole and Vince's wedding and made the best of the time we had before I returned to Arkansas the next day. Before we parted, Vince asked for a hug to say "good-bye" because he was given less than 6 months to live and that would be the last time we would see each other. In my mind, that sounded crazy. To me, Vince was invincible... even without his bullet-proof vest. Unfortunately, I was wrong.  
Vince (Pooh) - There are no words to adequately express my feelings or sense of loss. Your dad will always have a special place in my heart, as do you. Tomorrow will especially be difficult for me --to face reality that Vince is no longer, physically in this world.  However, I have had the privilege of knowing him and  many, many wonderful memories to be cherished:  "Little Vince" and his friend Travis - what a pair!  In early spring, we had the good fortune of a couple of get" togethers". - when he told us of his prognosis and sharing that I had breast cancer - we drained it for all it was worth!!  We laughed a lot and demanded a lot of out hosts!!  Vince was my son-in-law for a time.

Rest In Peace Vince. I have great memories of working with you at Kettering PD and our days on the basketball court even though you nicknamed me the "brick mason"!  My sympathy to the Chalecki family.

I wanted to offer my deepest sympathies to the family of Vince Chalecki. I worked loss prevention for many years for Walmart at the sugar creek store & we worked a lot of cases together. I always knew that I could count on him to follow through with a case & I produced a lot of felony cases for him. I used to call him a hound dog because he would really chase things down to solve a case. I really respected him & he is going to be missed. I hope God gets his family through this tough time. The sugarcreek police department didn't seem the same when he left. Rest in peace Officer chalecki.

Godspeed Vince . Sympathies to the family .

I worked with Vince at the Sugarcreek Township Police Department until he retired in 2008.  He was an excellent officer and investigator.  Vince was always very focused on his work and gave it all he had every day. He honored me by coming to my retirement party, which I never expected. 
My sympathy to Vince, Nicole, and Baby Vince.  RIP, Officer Chalecki.  We will all miss you.

Vince was the big brother I never had growing up. His escapades and dry sense of humor were always near and dear to my heart. Although we did not have the opportunity to see each other much as adults, I will always remember those few memorable times we did get to spend together like the time he pushed me down a mountain (on skiis :) His tireless dedication to his family, and the joy and pride he had upon the marriage of his son and birth of his grandchild were most memorable however. I will miss him very much; my deepest sympathies to Vince and Nicole. I regret I will be unable to make the trip from Virgina for the ceremony, but my heart is with you all.

I am so sorry for your loss. May the God of all peace be with you during this time. One day we will be united with our loved ones once again.

I came to know Vince when he was a caregiver for his parents when I served in St Charles Nursing Home ministry at Oak Creek Terrace Nursing Center.  Vince brought his father to the nursing home each day to visit his mother.  He was always looking for ways to serve the residents in the memory care unit.  I remember his kindness to each of them as he would visit with each one, paying attention to their needs - he even made a special pudding for one of them.  He was a loving father and faithful caregiver not only to his mother but later also to his father.  I send my condolences to his son, Vince and other family members.
