

Vincent DeVanney of Kettering, Ohio passed away on October 22, 2021 at the age of 86. The strong patriarch of his family, Vincent was an adoring husband, father and pappaw. He was survived by his wife, Marian DeVanney; children, Beverly DeVanney of Vandalia, Ohio, Vicky Gillenwater of Centerville, Ohio and Vincent DeVanney (Lisa) of Union City, Ohio; grandchildren, Fredrick GIllenwater (Sarah), Angela Lizza (Tony), Randi DeVanney (Tim Walters), Joe Little, Devin Devanney (Hailey Beavins), Alex DeVanney (Britney Short) and granddog Roxy; great grandchildren, Zada Gillenwater, Kaden Lane, Finley GIllenwater, Madelyn DeVanney, Evelyn DeVanney and the newest great granddaughter, Raelyn Walters, born October 22, 2021; Sister-in-law Jane Krause and a host of nieces, nephews and other beloved cousins and relatives; beloved life-long best friends Jim and Pat Corbett.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Jeannette DeVanney; brother, Jerry DeVanney, and sister, Patricia Earles.
Vincent was a proud 1954 graduate from Chaminade and played football under coach Fuzzy Foust from 1950-1954.
He was an entrepreneur owning “Need-One-More Inn” in Dayton, Ohio from 1969-1988.
Vincent will be remembered for his welcoming heart and generosity for everyone he met. Always putting his family first, he was a hard-working man who provided for his family. He leaves behind lasting memories of holidays and gatherings with family and friends, cake icing smears on the faces of his grandchildren and years of laughter, joy and love. He will forever be missed.
Visitation will be held at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Vandalia, Ohio on Thursday, October 28 from 10a-12p with the service to immediately follow.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton.
