William Doyle Mitchell

William D. (Bill) Mitchell, age 90, passed away on April 17, 2016. He was raised in Indiana and served proudly as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, including a commendation for combat duty in the Soloman Islands. Following the service to his country, he earned a degree from Indiana State University. He moved to Dayton Ohio where he met his future wife Carole and worked 35 years for the PK Lumber Company as Sales Manager until his retirement. He enjoyed his retirement in Dayton and Fort Myers Florida with his family and friends and he loved to golf and walk his best friend Toby. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carole Mitchell; daughter Cheryl Bivins with grandchildren Connor and Brooke Bivins; son Bill (Crys) with grandchildren Bill Mitchell and Amanda Kiefer and great grandchildren Samantha Kiefer, Andrew Kiefer and Julia Mitchell; son David (Pamela) with grandchildren Ryan Mitchell, Jason Mitchell and Kristen Phillips and great grandchildren Kyleigh Mitchell and Kian Mitchell; son Scott (Megan); Memorials may be directed to: Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties, 5940 Long Meadow Dr., Middletown, OH 45004 www.hospiceofdayton.org
