MACKIE, Willie Vernell (Nell), age 88, passed away Wednesday at Liberty of Beavercreek Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvel Mackie; sister Margaret Webb, formerly of Detroit, MI; brothers Edward and James England of Dayton; brother Robert England of Sparta, TN and brother Charles England of Cookeville, TN. Willie is survived by her son Larry Mackie and daughter-in-law Linda; granddaughter Deborah McClendon of Kettering; grandson Andy Mackie and wife Barbara of Defiance, OH; great-grandchildren Kyle and Drew Mackie and Zachary and Kaitlin McClendon; sister Carrol Oakley and husband Bill and sister Moline Cravins, all of Sparta, TN; sisters-in-law Betty England of Sparta, TN and Jenny England Presley of Cookeville, TN. She was retired from General Motors in Kettering. The family would like to thank the staff of Legacy Village in Xenia for their kindness and care. Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH on Sunday, May 10, 2013 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The family will also receive friends at the Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville, TN on Tuesday, May 12, 2013 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with funeral services to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Dayton.

Granny Mackie was such a wonderful and amazing woman. Also a GREAT cook. yum. I feel blessed that she was in part of my life. We will miss her dearly and our memories will last us our lifetime.
