

WOOLF, Winona Leilani, age 89 years, 11 months passed to Eternal Life on November 8, 2015 in Centerville, Ohio. Winona, affectionately called “Tutu” was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and after her mother passed, lived from infancy
to 18 years of age, at The Salvation Army Girls’ Home in Manoa Valley, Oahu. She spoke often about how the values she learned in the “Home” shaped her life. With a smile on her face she loved to share her Hawaiian culture, and opened
her heart to all whom she met, with the Spirit of Aloha. She was married for 68 yrs to Robert Woolf, a Marine whom she met at a military dance in Honolulu. They married and moved to Ohio where she treasured their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sadly, Robert passed on August 21, 2015. Winona was a professional Hula dancer & avid master of the ukulele. She served as a volunteer at Kettering Medical Center, worked in the Kettering Schools cafeteria for 42 years, and as a past president of the OAPSE union local chapter. Preceded in death by her parents: Esther Kaleimaluhia Hau’oli Kaua & James Awo Young; Husband of 68 yrs, Robert Lee Woolf. Brother David Awo Young; Hanai Mother, Rev. Rose Kwan Soares; Hanai Brothers & Sister: Leonard, Edward & Pastor Melvin Kwan; Mildred Jeremiah; Great-Grandson Cory Baker. Survived by: Sister-in-law Joann York; Hanai Sister-in-law: Leimomi Kwan, Hanai Brother-in-law: Pastor Rueben Jeremiah. Children: Lauralyn Graham (Charlie), Robert Woolf (Judy), David Woolf (Ann), Dana Woolf. Daughters-in-Law: Nicki Warner and Lisa Watkins Woolf. Grandchildren: Bronwyn Duteil (Steven), Dawn Johnson (Erwin), Bobby Woolf (Pam), Matthew Woolf (Angie), Melanie Singleton (Josh), Denise Ash (Tom), Kyle Woolf, Jessica Crist (Garrett), Lauren Woolf (fiancé Tim Hulla). Great-Grandchildren: Allison Mannix, Dillon Woolf, Noah Duteil, Sean Johnson, Hunter Woolf, Jake Woolf, Eva Singleton, Holden Woolf, Ava Ash, Christian Woolf, Isaac Ash, Gavin Ash, Olivia Crist, Savannah Crist. Beloved Cousin: Martha Puanani Hau’oli Ramsey; Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special friend: Ann McBride Brooks.
