WHEELER, Zoral C. “Z” of Beavercreek age 71 returned to his Great Creator on October 20, 2022. Zoral passed at Kettering Hospital due to complications following open heart surgery two days earlier. “Z” needed his heart rebuilt and God took care of it. Zoral was born May 25, 1951 in Livingston, Tennessee to Jewel and Zoral Wheeler who preceded him in death.
Grieving this loss is his loving and patient wife of 46 years Paula Wheeler of Beavercreek, three children; Christine (Ron) Dysart of Urbana, Illinois. Carrie (Keith) Dodge of Xenia, his very special son Zachary Wheeler of Beavercreek, one special granddaughter Autumn Dysart with new great granddaughter Daisy of Urbana Illinois. Also grieving are three sisters Debbie (Mike) McDorman of Alabama, Teresa (Patrick) Lucas of Springboro, Tammy (Paul) Parks of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews. Zoral is loved by many, many friends from church as well as his long career as an automotive technician and his wonderful neighbors.
His parents moved to Dayton when he was a baby and as he grew up he attended Dayton Public Schools. He always had strong ties to Tennessee where his grandparents, cousins, uncles, and aunts lived; particularly, Jamestown, Tennessee.
Zoral began working on VW’s with his dad as a teenager and soon learned much more than his dad anticipated. He had a God given gift to diagnose and repair VW’s and that transpired to Porsche, Audi, and then Lexus, and enjoyed it. He was consulted from many areas of the U.S. requesting his thoughts concerning a problem vehicle. Zoral was highly respected for his automotive skills and dedication to hard work. During his career he worked at Dave Dennis VW, White Allen Porsche-Audi, and then Lexus of Dayton, retiring in 2018.
He loved all things VW and owned one, two, or three of every model at some time. His collection got smaller and was easier to store as he began collecting VW Hot wheels and Die cast cars as well as memorabilia. For the last ten years or more he was known for going everywhere in his VW Dune Buggy, giving rides to anyone.
In 1989 Zoral and Paula accepted Christ, and were baptized and began to follow Jesus at University Church of God in Beavercreek. He was a “new man”.
Zoral began to support the youth group and learned the Bible as he taught. His dedication and compassion for youth ministries grew as the Wheeler family attended Gospel Temple of Dayton and then moved to Beavercreek Frist Assembly of God. In 2007 Zoral met Pastor Jeff Burke and was drawn by the Holy Spirit and moved by the anointing and truth Pastor Jeff Burke preached. Zoral, Paula, and Zach began attending a little church in a cornfield in Spring Valley, Ohio called Living Water Worship Center. This little church grew and is now located in Kettering, Ohio and renamed “The Body Dayton.”
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 5, 2022 at “The Body Dayton” at 4445 Wilmington Pike, Kettering Oh 45440. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2pm to 3pm with a service at 3pm. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Burke and Jeff Voshall.
