

Amy Nixon Jackson, born April 19, 1975, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, educator, and friend whose life was defined by love, generosity, and unwavering positivity. A strong Christian, Amy loved the Lord deeply and lived out her faith daily through kindness, service, and compassion for others.
Born in Decatur, Alabama, Amy was raised in Moulton, Alabama, where she developed the strong values and caring spirit that would guide her throughout her life. She graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1993 and went on to attend Mississippi State University, earning her degree in 1997. A devoted Mississippi State fan, Amy loved cheering on the Bulldogs and treasured spending game days in Starkville with her family and friends. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and a proud Chi Omega mom.
Amy dedicated her professional life to serving children as a reading coach at Walter Jackson Elementary. She deeply loved the students she taught, caring for them as if they were her own. Her compassion, patience, and encouragement left a lasting impact on countless young lives.
Amy loved her family with her whole heart and always made every gathering a celebration. She cherished “Nixon Family Vacations” and left a lifetime of joyful memories for her family to treasure through the years. She loved big, had a heart for others, and lived life to the fullest.
She is survived by her loving husband, Brad Jackson; her cherished daughters Mary Bradford and Gray, who were the center of her world; her parents, Charlotte and Nicky Nixon; her sisters, Leigh Ann Wise (Reagan) and Sally Coulson; her beloved nieces and nephews, Charlotte Wise, Maury Coulson, John David Wise, Carter Coulson, Catherine Wise, and Caroline Coulson, whom she adored and was their biggest fan in all that they did; her in-laws, Bill and Sherlyn Jackson; her sister-in-law, Amy Jackson Nygaard; and her nephew, Jackson Bellin. She is further survived by many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Amy had the ability to make every room brighter, always offering kindness, encouragement, and a positive spirit to those around her. Amy was truly a bright light, and her warmth, joy, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Decatur, AL on Sunday, December 28th, 2025 at 1 P.M. with a service at 3 P.M.
