Our hearts are broken as we announce that on Tuesday Aurelia left this earthly world and was welcomed into Heaven with open arms.
Aurelia was a woman full of love, kindness, strength, and devotion to her family. She was a deeply loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Jim Thaxton; her children, Daphne Thaxton Kirby (Tommy) and Kelly Thaxton; her grandchildren, Leslie Thaxton and Hannah Clark; and her sister, Sharon Hurst (Ralph) .
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha Hastings; her youngest child, Tracey C. Thaxton; her only grandson, William S. Kirby III; and three sisters.
A celebration of Aurelia’s life will be held on Saturday, June 13, at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those who went before her and is now at peace in her heavenly home.
