A celebration of her life will be held tonight from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be on Friday at Central United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Viewing will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Reverend Gary Formby is officiating.
Mrs. Shannon is preceded in death by her husband, John Harvel Shannon; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Lee and Joyce Mae Black.
She is survived by her brother, Donald Richard Black; two sons, John Perry Shannon, and Craig Patrick Shannon (Shelley); and one granddaughter, Brittney Taylor Shannon.
Mrs. Shannon was an active member of Central United Methodist Church, she loved traveling, crossword puzzles, playing dominoes, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and her two beloved pets.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be sent to Central United Methodist Church.
