

He attended Speake High School, he then went on and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After his service, he spent many years as a home builder & pipe welder.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Sonya Reeves; his parents; and his sister, Brenda Lambert.
He is survived by his son, Brian Reeves (Casey) of Danville, Alabama, and his daughter, Brianna Dutton (Jamie) of Decatur, Alabama. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Presley Reeves (Braxton), Peyton Reeves, Eli Dutton, and Ava Dutton.
The visitation will be on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home, The service will be at 12:00 PM Wednesday with Otto Wood officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brian Reeves, Jamie Dutton, Eli Dutton, Shane Cannon, Barry Standridge, and Jeremy Blaxton.
Those who knew Buckwheat will remember how he loved a cold Sundrop, his talent for fixing almost anything, and his quick wit that kept everyone laughing. Above all, he adored his children and grandchildren, who were the pride of his life.
