

Carolyn McClellan Morris 91, passed away peacefully Monday, January 13 2025. She was born in Priceville, Alabama on August 29, 1933 to David Harris and Mabel Claire McClellan. Raised in Priceville, she attended Priceville High School where she was Valedictorian of her senior class. After graduating, she went on to work at the Alabama Farmers Coop. After a few years, she began to work at Wolverine Copper Tubing where she met her husband, Charles Henry Morris, of 53 years. They were married on June 15, 1957 at Central United Methodist Church where Carolyn has been a lifelong member. Carolyn always enjoyed attending Sunday school and excursions with the church.
Carolyn was very proud of her 2 sons, David Keith Morris and Charles Howard Morris. Carolyn began working as the secretary at Gordon Bibb Elementary School where she could keep a watchful eye over David and Charles. Carolyn was also an avid bridge player and participated in weekly games at the Decatur Community Center. Carolyn had a large extended family which she loved that gathered monthly for fellowship and breakfast.
Carolyn also loved to travel. For many years, Carolyn and Charlie made many memories at the beach with her children and grandchildren. She remembered fondly a trip to Hawaii where she met Magic Johnson on the flight over. Recently, she recalled her favorite birthday was her 80th at The Greenbriar with her family.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents David Harris McClellan and Mabel Claire Morris, and her husband Charles Henry Morris. She is survived by her sons David Keith Morris (Holly) and Charles Howard Morris (Renea); six grandchildren Mary Morris Hull (Frazier), Anthony McClellan Morris (Stephanie), Taylor Ann Morris, Frances Elizabeth Morris, David Alexander Morris, and Charles Zachary Morris; and one great granddaughter Helen Elizabeth Hull.
There will be a memorial service at Central United Methodist Church at 2:00 Sunday, January 19, 2025, with a reception following in the fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made to Central United Methodist Church in Decatur, AL.
