Funeral service for Charles J. Owens, 78, of Priceville, will be Monday, June 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverand Dale Clem officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Burial wil be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation wil be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Owens died on June 7, 2013, at his residence. He was born on January 1, 1935, in Decatur to the late Charles and Clyde Owens. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Andy Brasfield; three brothers, Ruel Owens, Roland Owens, and Vernon Owens; and his sister, Naomi LaFrancis.
He is survived by his wife of 52 1/2 years, Joyce Owens, Priceville; two daughers, Sharon "Lynne" Owens, Priceville and Donna Owens Brasfield (Billy), Huntsville; his sister, Judy Bruton, Oregon; his grandchildren, Kristen Favors, Katelyn Hill, both of Priceville, Koller Winton, Somerville, and Jake Brasfield, Huntsville.
Pallbearers will be Brian Favors, Melvin Duran, Donald Livingston, Tommy Perry, Dewayne Sullins, Kolter Winton, Jake Brasfield, and Rodney Frances. Honorary Pallbearer will be Delmer Carter.
