Clara Fay Burfield, 80, born January 22, 1932, in Franklin County to Walter and Flora Carpenter, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at her home. She was a member of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church in Decatur. She retired from the Decatur School System and Hutto Printing.

Visitation will be today, February 9, 2012, from 10 a.m. to noon at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral will be at noon in the chapel with Bro. Joe Holmes and James McCullar officiating. Burial will follow in Spruce Pine Cemetery in Franklin County. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Coy Burfield; and two sisters, Inez McCullar and Syble Hill.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Watkins of Decatur and Hilda (Loyd) Letson of Courtland; one son, Michael Burfield of Decatur; two brothers, Odell Carpenter of Decatur and Thomas Carpenter of Fulton, Miss.; three grandchildren, Kim (Mark) Conatser, Andy (Laura) Letson and Jenna Burfield; and six great-grandchildren, Trevor Conatser, Spencer Conatser, Sawyer Conatser, Kaitlyn Letson, Skye Letson and Madison Letson.

Pallbearers will be Andy Letson, Loyd Letson, Mark Conatser, Trevor Conatser, Spencer Conatser and nephews.
