She is survived by her devoted husband of more than 61 years, Don Chambers; her daughters, Teresa Pearce and Kelly Chambers; her brother, Paul Vineyard; and her beloved dog, Huck. She was preceded in death by her parents, John C. and Jean Vineyard; her sister, Anita Price; her brother, Jim Vineyard; and her cherished pets, Harvey the cat and Opie the dog.
Lynn was born in Spring City, Tennessee, where she grew up on the family farm. She developed a love for music and played the piano at Yellow Creek Baptist Church. It was there that Don first saw her as she walked out of the church, beginning a lifelong love story. Throughout their marnage, Don affectionately called her "Wifey" and "Miss Lynn."
She was a devoted mother to her two daughters and expressed her love through her creativity and care. Lynn had a passion for sewing and lovingly made their clothes, often creating matching outfits for them and their dolls.
Lynn pursued her education at Wake Tech Community College, where she earned an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice. She later graduated from the High Point Police Academy and as a young woman, went on to serve with the High Point Sheriff's Department in North Carolina.
She found joy in reading, gardening, and cross-stitch, and had a deep love for animals, always spoiling her pets. Known for her kindness and gentle spirit, Lynn had a special place in her heart for children with special needs. She served as a substitute teacher in the Decatur school system and was involved with the Heavenly Made class at First Baptist Church in Decatur.
Lynn was also a devoted daughter, caring for her parents in their later years. She took great pride in being the family historian, preserving treasured heirlooms and memories for generations to come. She will be laid to rest at Smith-Wilkey Cemetery, near Spring City, TN.
According to Lynn's wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Arc of Morgan County.
Roselawn Funeral Home has the honor of serving the family.
