Donald was born on September 26, 1934. He was a member of IBEW local 558 in Florence, Al since 1957. He was a Member and Deacon of Poplar Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed working and improving the cemetery in his retirement years. Donald enjoyed working in his yard and garden, grilling for his family and playing cards. In his later years, he enjoyed watching Fox News every day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara and son, Don Jr.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Bobbie Hamilton (Barry) and Sonya Groover (Mike), 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren
A graveside service for Donald will be held Monday, September 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Poplar Creek Cemetery, 10880 Snake Rd, Athens, AL 35611.
