Elizabeth Olene White

Elizabeth Olene White, 88, of Birmingham, AL, passed away on August 29th, 2023. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 2nd from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Roselawn Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life graveside service will begin at 11:00 am at Roselawn Cemetery.

Olene is survived by her three children, Danny White, Sheree Bishop and Donna Colson; four grandchildren, Whitley Prince, Taylor Bishop, Jeremy Gilbert, and Susanne Carpenetti. Ten great-grandchildren: Jackson, James, Skylar, Madison, Grace, Jackson, Kinslee, Ellison, Dalton, and Wesley. Several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. White.

Olene was born November 27, 1934 in Lawrenceburg, TN to John and Cora Cothren. She was known among friends and family for her kind smile, selflessness, and generous spirit. She had a light-hearted sense of humor and was always making others, especially her grandchildren, laugh. She had a way of always making those around her feel special and was a great listener. Olene loved her church and volunteered for Mother’s Day Out and other children’s programs. She had many friends and was always opening her home to various Women’s groups. Some of her favorite pastimes were spending time with family, gardening, cooking, sewing, and spoiling her pets.

Serving as pallbearers will be Whitley Prince, Jackson Prince, James Prince, Jim Cothren, Chris Colson, and Stewart Lee.
