September 3, 1932 - July 1, 2026
Emma Nola Coxwell, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the heart of her family, went to her heavenly home peacefully on Wednesday, July 1st at the age of 93, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love, unwavering devotion, and cherished family memories.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and cherished relationships with friends from churches she attended/belonged in her bountiful years here with us.
Emmie was, simply put, the very best mother and grandmother. She was the steady presence her family could always count on—the rock that held everyone together through every season of life. Her home was more than a place to gather; it was a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, delicious food, and unconditional love. Her family was always greeted at her door with open arms, a warm meal, and the feeling that they were deeply loved. And they never left without her standing at the door waving until your car drove out of sight.
She had striking blue eyes, a smile that could brighten any room, and always wore a red lipstick that became as memorable as she was. Her laugh was wonderfully contagious, and her hugs were strong enough to make every worry seem a little smaller. She never missed an opportunity to tell those she loved exactly how she felt. "I love you" was never left unsaid.
Nothing in this world brought Emmie more joy than her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her universe, and their happiness was her greatest reward. She never missed a dance recital, graduation, honor ceremony, concert, or any event where one of her grandchildren was participating. She celebrated every accomplishment, no matter how big or small, with immense pride and unwavering support.
Holidays and birthdays were never ordinary in Emmie’s home. She believed every celebration was an opportunity to bring her family together, and she lovingly spent countless hours preparing meals that became treasured traditions. An exceptional cook, she poured her heart into every recipe, knowing that the best memories are often made around the family table.
Emmie’s beauty was not only seen in her striking appearance but in the kindness she showed, the sacrifices she made, and the endless love she gave. She taught her family that showing up matters, that traditions create lasting memories, and that love is best expressed through both words and actions. She was the constant in the lives of those she loved—the comforting embrace and the safe place everyone could always return to.
One of Emmie’s greatest joys was seeing her family grow through the generations. Her legacy lives on in her great-granddaughter, Merritt Nola, who proudly carries her beloved middle name, ensuring that a piece of Emmie will continue with every new chapter.
Emma Nola is survived by her loving children, son Joey Coxwell (Shelley) and daughter, Marsha Tarbox; her cherished grandchildren, Ashleigh White (Judson), Jaime Dunn (Wesley) Carrie Eisberg (Art), and Joey Tarbox; and her adored great-grandchildren, Ethan, Merritt, Nate, Magnolia, Ava & Beck.
Although our hearts ache in her absence, we know that she is now reunited with her loved ones that were called home before her and we are forever grateful for the 93 years we were blessed to share with her. As we continue to navigate this world without her, we carry her with us—in the traditions she created, the recipes she lovingly prepared, the laughter she shared, the hugs we will never forget, and the immeasurable love she gave so freely.
Emmie was our constant. She was our home. She was our greatest blessing.
She will be missed beyond words, loved beyond measure, and remembered forever.
A private family graveside service will be Roselawn Cemetery..
