Emogene Phillips, 86, of Decatur, passed away on February 14, 2018. She was born on February 5, 1932 to parents, Alton Cox and Lois Skinner Cox. Emogene was a loving mother and wife; she loved her family dearly. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting. She was a long time member of Cedar Ridge Baptist Church. Emogene loved the Lord, and she would often journal during her devotional time. Emogene will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her, parents; husband, H.R. Phillips; son, Tommy Phillips; daughter, Linda Alexander; grandson, Steven Phillips.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Sandra Barnes (Dave); brother, Jerry Cox; sister, Patsy Sparkman; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Emogene will be on Friday, February 16, 2018, at 12:00 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. A visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
