Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Beard, who passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at her residence, was born November 8, 1925, in Morgan County to Elbert Roy and Leona Wright Roy. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She retired from Prestolite and 35 years. Her husband, Chester Beard, preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Paul (Glenda) Beard of Caddo and Leroy (Patricia) Beard of Hartselle; five grandchildren, Pam Slate of Montgomery, Mac (Becky) Beard of Hartselle, Ross (Molly) Beard of Union City, Tenn., Russ Beard of Decatur and Leigh Ann Beard of Hartselle; and four great-grandchildren, Chrystalyn Beard, Chandler Beard, Cheston Beard and Hailey Carol Beard, all of Hartselle.
Pallbearers will be Gwen Jones, Charles Brazell, Mike Garnett, Donnie Lawrence, Jerry Bloodworth and Frank Campbell.
