Her visitation will be on Monday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will follow in the chapel of the funeral home.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Bro. Jackie Kay is officiating.
Mrs. Nelms is preceded in death by her husband John T. Nelms, and her parents Emma Lou Morgan, and Ben B. Morgan.
She is survived by her son, John T. Nelms Jr., daughter, Mary Beth Aldridge(Erskine), grandchildren, Vikki R. Nelms Mullins(Roy), Shealaye Aldridge Hayes(Billy), Cory Aldridge(Renae), and Nikki C. Nelms. Great-grandchildren, Katelyn Hayes, Amy-Taylor Hayes, Carter Aldridge, and Lucy Aldridge.
Mrs. Nelms loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Loved covered bridges, and animals. She had a special touch when it came to plants. She could make anything grow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of the Valley. 240 Johnston St. SE, Decatur, AL 35601.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
