Graveside service for Freedus Mae Atwood Posey, 81, of Decatur will be Monday, December 26, 2011, at 12:15 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Chris Anderson and Jacob Chandler officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
Mrs. Posey, who died Friday, December 23, 2011, at Decatur General Hospital, was born May 16, 1930, in McCarr, Ky., to Nathan and Mary Atwood. She was a member of the Elks Lodge and Women's Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Posey; two sons, Tommy Posey and Michael Posey; and son-in-law, Jimmy R. Watson.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie P. Watson and Teresa P. Anderson (Chris); her daugther-in-law, Patsy B. Posey; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
