A visitation will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home on January 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Shiloh Cemetery, located at 3941 Hwy 36 E, Somerville, AL 35670.
Irene is survived by Orbin Dempsey (Valena) and daughter, Dorothy Dudley (Ronnie), both of Somerville, AL. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dempsey and husband, Joe White and sons, Billy Dempsey and Bobby Dempsey.
Irene was born and raised in Decatur to the late Alvin and Mildred Earp. Carl and Irene Dempsey moved to Illinois and raised their children there. After Carl passed, Irene married Joe White. They moved to Somerville, AL to be close to Irene's children.
