James “Cowboy” Lemuel Childers, 80, of Hartselle passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018. James was born on April 4, 1937 to parents, Lemuel Grover Childers and Lola Heflin Childers. He worked for many companies throughout his working life such as, Giant Foods, Holloways Warehouse Groceries, and Blue Bell. James was married his loving wife, Teresa Sparks Childers until her passing in 1990.
James is preceded in death by his parents and wife.
James is survived by his children; Jimmy Childers, Debbie Williams (Mike), Timmy Childers (Kathy), Kenneth Childers (Julie), Johnny Childers (Christy), Amy Jones (Charles), and Kayla Childers; sisters, Arlene Jurges, Louise Jones, Wanda Dickerson (Gary), and Georgia Howard (Butch); 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jayson McColgan, Cyle McColgan, Lynn Childers, Heath Blagburn, Shane Woodson, and Josh Cyr.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Childers will be Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. A visitation service will be on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Childers Cemetery.
