James Troyce Douglas, 82 of Danville, Al, passed away on Monday March 3, 2025. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 1-2 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home with Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2 PM in the Chapel with Pastor Joe McKaig officiating interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
James (Doug) is survived by one son Troyce Anthony Douglas, of Danville, one daughter Stephanie Douglas Barnette (John) of Decatur, step son, Scott Staten(Jackie), step daughter Rhonda Staten Townsend ( Bobby) of Texas, thirteen grandchildren Corey Barnette (Courtney), Amanda Lindsey (Josh), Richard Douglas, Niki Nance (Curt), Corey Staten (Jaclyn), Shawn Staten, Ryan Staten, Craig Collins, Melissa Collins, Shannon Townsend, Jennifer Wingo (Michael), Tim Hester, and Haley Hester, all of Texas and 11 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary K. Kathy Douglas of Texas, his brother Jerry Leon Douglas of Florida, his daughter Denise Douglas Waters of Wyoming, one step daughter, Lisa Hester (Thomas Jr.) of Texas and his grandson Levi Hokanson of Cullman, AL .
He was born on September 24, 1942, to Leon Roy and Lois Louise Nutt Douglas of Pensacola, Fl. He served in the Vietnam war as a staff supply Seargent (E5). He was honorably discharged but later finished his military career in the Army National Guard in Decatur, AL and in Texas. He served our country for 20 years. He also enjoyed various security jobs before officially retiring.
Those serving as pall bearers will be Corey Barnette, Josh Lindsey, Joshua Turner, Richard Douglas, Joel Troy, and Chris Lindley
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to First Priority, Decatur, AL or Clothe our kids.
