James Earl Harris entered comfortably into eternal peace and rest on November 14th, 2025 at the age of 62. Born on May 2, 1963 in Georgia, he lived a life full of gardening, cooking, and passing on endless knowledge he had. He was a master of one-liners, naturally hilarious and always had a comeback with his sarcastic and dry humor. He served time in the Navy as a second seaman on the USS Blue Ridge during the 1980s. He spent his careers as a dedicated forklift operator for Walmart Distribution Center in which he took great pride in and was also very skilled at being the comedic relief at work. He was a lover of music, movies, and helping those in need. His legacy will live on through the plants and flowers around us, the cookie recipe he gave us, the jokes he left behind, the sarcasm we can still hear, and the people who aren't sure whether to laugh or roll their eyes and his daughters who put up with it all.
In addition of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday November 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Central Baptist Church located 2801 Hwy 31 S, Decatur, AL 35603.
