James Timothy Kyle, 63, of Decatur died Friday, April 20, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. The family will receive friends from 10-11AM on Monday, April 23 at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 11AM, Father Ray Remke officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Tim was born February 4, 1955, in Decatur, Alabama to Donald Ponsonby Kyle, Sr. and Rita Brueggemann Kyle. He was a 1973 graduate of Decatur High School and a 1977 graduate of the University of Alabama. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1980 and practiced law in Decatur for nearly 38 years. He was a lifelong active member of St. Ann/Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church. He was a Red Cross volunteer for many years, teaching water safety instructor classes. Other past memberships include the Knights of Columbus and the Lions Club.
He is survived by his sister, Rita M. Kyle of Arlington Heights, IL, three brothers, Donald P. Kyle, Jr. (Susan) of Decatur, Raymond F. Kyle (Deb) of Lilburn, GA, and Daniel V. Kyle of Homewood, and his loving aunts, nieces, and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Russell Barr, Dr. Heather Shah, and the nursing staff of the third floor at Decatur Morgan Hospital for their expert and compassionate care of Tim throughout his illness. Memorials may be made in the form of donations to the Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church Building Fund or local charity of your choice.
