Mr. James Jackson Williamson, known as Jack, of Decatur, Al passed away on May 28, 2025. Jack was born to James Jackson and Myrtle Graves Williamson on March 22, 1936. He is survived by his first cousins once removed, Kathryn DeWitt and Wyatt Leonard, their spouses, children and grandchildren.
Jack was born in Decatur where he graduated from Decatur High School in 1954.
He attended the University of Alabama, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Social Fraternity, graduating in 1958. He was affectionately addressed as “Love Williamson”.
After completing his degree from the University of Alabama, Jack worked in social services in Decatur, Birmingham and Mobile.
Before retiring and returning to Decatur in 2012, he worked as social director in a Nursing home in Foley, Alabama while living in Gulf Shores.
Jack is loved and remembered by all his family, friends, and associates. Jack’s service will be at his Church, St John’s Episcopal church, Decatur, AL. on June 12,2025 at 5:00 pm.
