Jane Malone White, 92, died April 30, 2012. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Decatur with Dr. Terry Greer and the Reverend Sandra Locke-Godbey officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from noon to 1:45 p.m. Mrs. White was born January 29, 1920. She graduated from Riverside High School in 1937 and attended Sullins College and The University of North Alabama. She married Thomas Carey White in 1938. They shared 68 happy years until his death in 2006.
A lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, where she was baptized and married, Mrs. White was a dedicated church volunteer and faithful member of the United Methodist Women and Wesley Sunday school class. She was a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club and a Sustaining member of the Junior League of Morgan County. She had a great love for her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, Susan Pointer Malone and Samuel Hosmer Malone; a sister, Elizabeth Malone Wright; and a brother, Samuel Hosmer Malone Jr.
Mrs. White is survived by a son, Thomas Carey White Jr. (Amanda) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and daughter, Susan White Morley (Charles) of Huntsville. She was the proud grandmother of Elisabeth White Seufert (Marshal), Boulder, Colo., Thomas Carey White III (Eszter), San Francisco, Calif., Anne Katherine White, Oak Point, Ill., Arthur Allen Simpson IV (Lera), Ormond Beach, Fla., and Thomas Morgan Simpson (Heather), Sherman Oaks, Calif.; stepgrandchildren include Biel Morley Trudell (Eric) and Greta Morley Springer (Matt), Nashville, Tenn. Mrs. White had eight great-grand- children and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
